Some of our key team members include:

Shawn Smith – Horticulturist and President of LHLC
Shawn was born in Rossford, Ohio and moved to Kingwood, TX in 1981.  His life in horticulture began at the age of 13 when he started mowing lawns for the residents in his neighborhood.  His professional life began in 1985 with the formation of Lake Houston Lawn Care, which serviced residential customers.  Shawn graduated from Kingwood High School, where he received the Kingwood Garden Club Scholarship, and continued his education at Sam Houston State University.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture-Horticulture and Crop Science, with a minor in Business.

LHLC continued to prosper and was incorporated in 1997.  At this point, Shawn’s goal was to move LHLC into the commercial landscape industry with a focus on Homeowners Associations complete landscape management needs (One Call – We Do It All).  This idea grew LHLC, Inc. into a multi faceted, service based company offering everything from lawn maintenance to design and construction of community common areas.

In addition to overseeing the daily operations of LHLC Shawn has served as President on the Board of Directors for his own community, and as such completed several community enhancements.  Shawn is a State of Texas Licensed Irrigator, Licensed Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester, and Structural Pest Control Board Certified Applicator.

When Shawn is not meeting with clients to enhance their communities, he enjoys boating, traveling to tropical destinations for scuba diving and deep sea fishing and flying airplanes (Shawn has his private pilot’s license).
